Project Honeypot

Recently I stumbled across Project Honeypot, an interesting anti-spam system to identify and flag Internet abusers, through the use of honey pots -- systems that look innocent and attractive enough to the passing network abuser, but which actually log and flag the abuser's activity and record it for future reference.

It seems cool enough -- anything that aims to stop random assholes from abusing the Internet and making life unpleasant for the rest of us is to be commended -- but I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with the project, and has any comments? I'm considering joining up and contributing a few resources, but prior experience is always worth listening to. E-mail me at mpalmer@hezmatt.org, and I'll summarise in a future post (possibly with my own experiences, if I do actually join up).
