In my eyes, Ubuntu now has all of the pieces of a mature, well-rounded distribution.

What was the missing piece, you ask, that Ubuntu has finally aquired? It's mailing lists now have the ability to sustain a long and pointless discussion, containing a signal-to-noise ratio low enough to cause me to actively add filters into my mail setup to get rid of it (instead of JHD).
