Due to the relative insecurity of 1024 bit keys, I am transitioning away
from my existing GPG key to a newer, shinier one.

The old key will continue to be valid for some time, but i prefer all
future correspondence to come to the new one.  I would also like this
new key to be re-integrated into the web of trust.  This message is
signed by both keys to certify the transition.

the old key was:

pub   1024D/69351387 2002-02-21
      Key fingerprint = AC17 A3EC E2C5 2DC4 8898  CC4B 0449 EB4D 6935 1387

And the new key is:

pub   4096R/49F7FC9B 2011-01-13
      Key fingerprint = DCE7 6C9A 3678 5CE0 22EF  CC27 1654 965A 49F7 FC9B

To fetch my new key from a public keyserver, you can do:

  gpg --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-key 49F7FC9B

If you already trust my old key, you can now verify that the new key is
signed by the old one:

  gpg --check-sigs 49F7FC9B

If you are satisfied that you've got the right key, and the UIDs match
what you expect, I'd appreciate it if you would sign my key:

  gpg --sign-key 49F7FC9B

You can either send me an e-mail with the new signatures (if you have
a functional MTA on your system):

  gpg --armor --export 49F7FC9B | \
    mail -s 'OpenPGP Signatures' mpalmer@hezmatt.org

Or you can just upload the signatures to a public keyserver directly:

  gpg --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --send-key 49F7FC9B
